In From Google Docs with love, a Google Document becomes the central meeting

point for a group of people from different timespaces to write and stage a theatre

play. A protocol frames the process whereby everything remains discussable,

changeable and fluid. At a fixed point of time, the theatre play will be staged as a

snapshot within the process of writing and rehearsals, which will be a public event

itself.

What kind of narrative structures can be found in cyberspace? How can we use

digital channels and tools to write and stage a collaborative theatre piece? Are

surrealist and dadaist methods predictions of what we ́re facing today?

Let’s create a beautiful mess.

Lisa et Marjorie font de l ́Art is an artistic duo with different origins. They know

what it means to work together in different timespaces. Over one year Marjorie &

Lisa had an artistic long distance relationship via skype, facebook, email, google,

whatsapp ... and they even shared an everyday life including cooking, brushing

teeth, drinking, hangovers, and meeting friends and family. It was then that they

wrote a theatre play via GDocs, GTranslate and Skype, inbetween France and

Germany, in French and German. Like this, they gained quite some experience

and, surprisingly, found out that the creation in distance doesn ́t have to be a poor

condition, but might be a new category that influences the result of the artistic

process profoundly.

For their new project From Google Docs with love they invite colleagues and friends

from different artistic fields to collaborate. Introductions to the participants and a

full name list will be published in the course of the event.
